Homemade Christmas Gifts: Infant Hats
November 21, 2008
This week, I wanted to post pictures of a few infant hats hat I have made. Probably next Thursday I will post about making adult hats and scarves. I will try to explain how I made them so you can make them if you desire. So without further ado. Here they are!
Directions for Making A Infant Hat:
- First you will need to make sure you have yarn (you don’t need a lot) and a size 3.75MM needle.
- Cast on 55 stitches.
- 1st-10th row: Double Crochet
- 11th row: Double Crochet every other stitch
- 12th row: Double Crochet every stitch
- 13th row: Double Crochet every other stitch
- Finishing up: Double Crochet every other stitch until the end and then put the two ends together and “sew” (crochet) them together and then knot the end and cut. Turn inside-out and roll the two bottom rows up to get the cuff.
- Congratulations! You made a hat!

Hello Becca! Your blog is so cute! Thank you for posting on a homemade Christmas. The burp rags are so cute, and these baby hats are precious (I especially like the light blue one!).
Blessings to your weekend!

These are so well done! I have made dozens of these over the years but have not crocheted in 2 years due to carpal tunnel and arthritis. I really miss it! I can knit but not for extended periods of time. Be sure to take breaks to rest your wrists
)
Do you find patterns online? There are sooo many sites for free.
GOd bless you as you bless others with your gifts, Mrs. Maurer

Mrs. Maurer,
Thank you so much for commenting again!!! I did not know you have carpal tunnel and arthritis! I have seen the shawls that you have made. They are so beautiful! What were you working on at Financial Peace a few weeks back?
I have never looked fro online patterns! Do you google to find the best ones or do you have a certain website that you suggest.
I am looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!
Love,
Becca
